Abstract

Objective: To examine the feasibility and initial efficacy of 2 abbreviated dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills training groups: emotion regulation skills only and emotion regulation with mindfulness skills. Participants: Participants were 24 undergraduates (aged 18–29) with significant emotion dysregulation who participated between February and May of 2010, 2011, and 2012. Methods: Participants participated in 2-hour weekly group sessions for 8 weeks and completed outcome measures at baseline, midtreatment, posttreatment, and 4-week follow-up. Results: Participants in both conditions made significant gains, with large effect sizes, across measures of emotion regulation, affect, skills use, and functioning. There were no differences between the 2 groups, suggesting no additive benefit of mindfulness skills. Conclusions: This pilot study provides support for the acceptability and efficacy of abbreviated DBT skills training in colleges, given significant improvements, positive feedback, and low attrition. Impediments to feasibility included recruitment difficulties, particularly due to scheduling constraints.  相似文献

Using data from a pilot study of mid-life, mid-career women in nursing, this research note suggests further exploration of women's work roles in understanding subjective assessments of self and aging. The analysis shows that among the nurses studied, dynamics of occupational or professional change were related to views of self in the future. These issues of change rather than age graded norms for achievement were paramount in the nurses' self assessment.  相似文献

Longer life expectancy has increased concern about living standards among elder women. This paper examines the relation between labor market status and living standard post-retirement. We use data from two national surveys to contrast economic circumstances of post-retirement aged and currently employed women. Financial resources of aged women and factors associated with their magnitude are identified. We examine current economic resources and employee benefits of women who will retire after the year 2000. The paper concludes with a discussion of proactive mid-life strategies for long-term economic stability among women, with emphasis on unique concerns, of black women.  相似文献

将中国女性文学纳入启蒙叙事传统中,通过启蒙思潮与女性文学的内在一致性、启蒙话语下女性文学的文本特征、启蒙对女性创作的启示三个方面,阐述女性文学的诞生与启蒙思潮的不解渊源、女性解放的主题与启蒙主题目标的高度一致、女性文学的两大高峰与启蒙的两大高峰相互应和、启蒙的先天不足造成女性创作的后天失调等现象和原因,指出在当下"启蒙死了"的哀悼声中,作为个人自由的启蒙精神将永存。启蒙思潮促生了现代意义的中国女性文学,而女性文学走向个性化又进一步深化了启蒙文化的意义,为启蒙提出了新课题。  相似文献

描写民族苦难以及重大历史背景下个体的困厄和艰辛,是二十世纪上半叶大多数中国作家和犹太作家作品的重要内容。文章选取了中国作家郁达夫和美国犹太作家马拉默德最有影响力的短篇小说作品进行分析,主要关注了他们对苦难的表述和言说的方式、角度,以及对超越苦难所做的不同尝试。郁达夫着力表达的是与民族命运息息相关的青年人的苦闷,马拉默德关注的是作为生命之常态的苦难。他山之石可以攻玉,当中国近现代大多数作家都抄“救亡图强”的近道去解生之苦难时,反观同时代的犹太作家们对苦难的表达,我们可以得到一种新的图式和角度。  相似文献

以200名大学本科生为研究对象,采取问卷调查、随机访谈和语言测试相结合的手段,对英语口语习得者的心理因素之间的关系,以及各因素与英语口语水平之间的关系进行了研究。结果表明:第一,英语口语习得者的个人心理因素对口语习得者的英语水平影响显著,且个人心理因素之间相互影响。英语口语水平较低及较高的习得者的自信性及学习兴趣强于中等水平者,而中等水平者的焦虑感却高于英语口语水平较低及较高者。第二,社会心理因素即学习动机、学习方法及学习环境与习得者的口语水平存在一定的相关性,各因素之间成正态分布。因而得出结论:个人心理因素是影响口语习得的内因,而社会心理因素是外因。  相似文献

Advances in brain research are increasingly having an impact on clinical interventions in all fields of psychotherapy. For adolescent family therapists it is important not only to understand the developing adolescent brain, but also how brain research can influence interventions aimed at interrupting problematic familial interactions. Interpersonal neurobiology and the ideas of Dr Daniel Siegel synthesise the interpersonal with the scientific, offering practical clinical methods of incorporating the research into everyday practice. This article incorporates a verbatim interview with Dr Siegel about the adolescent brain, interpersonal neurobiology and attachment with an outline of key concepts from interpersonal neurobiology including the hand model of the brain, nine functions of the prefrontal cortex, the triangle of wellbeing and eight domains of integration. Clinical applications are suggested using a common presenting problem of escalating conflict between teenagers and their parents.  相似文献
